From our kitchenSulu köfte – meatball stew with potatoes
Sulu köfte (“köfte in broth”) is the comfort food of Turkish grandmothers: small meatballs with rice are cooked in a tomato broth with potatoes and carrots. One pot, everything in it.

Method
Knead the mince with washed rice, grated onion, parsley, salt, pepper and cumin and shape hazelnut-sized balls.
Soften the onion in butter, stir in the pastes, add the water and bring to the boil.
Add diced potatoes and carrots and cook for 10 minutes.
Carefully drop in the köfte and simmer for 20 minutes until the rice is soft.
Sprinkle with mint and pul biber and serve with bread.
Tip from the storeShort-grain baldo rice from our shelf binds the meatballs best.
